We knocked out Bear Creek last month, so here's the plan on the rest of the system.

Every second Saturday of the month through June we will work on a section of the Pinhoti.

April 11th Details:

Who: Everyone is welcome to volunteer- especially certified saywers! Kids who are able to assist safety and stay focused are welcome to volunteer when accompanied by an adult.

What: Clearing Pinhoti Section 1 (Bear Creek to FS90… at least 3 miles, travelled on foot) We will be doing drains, tread work, and corridor clearing.

Where: Meet up at the Pinhoti 2 parking lot off Widerness Camp road and we will shuttle to the intersection of Pinhoti 1 and Wilderness Camp to hike in.

When: Meet up at 9am, we’ll plan to wrap up no later than noon.

What’s Provided: Lunch and tools are all provided!

What to Bring: Please wear long pants, hiking boots, bring gloves, a helmet (bike helmets okay), snacks, water and a pack and be prepared to hike at least 3 miles. Consider bugspray and sunscreen. Bring you epipi pen if you are allergic to bees.
Waiver: You must sign a waiver when checking in and wear a helmet to attend the event

When: Meet up at 9am, we’ll plan to wrap up no later than noon.

What’s Provided: Lunch and tools are all provided!

What to Bring: Bring water, bug spray, sunscreen, long pants, protective work glove, any meds/health/wellness things you’ll need to be in the woods. PLEASE BRING A PROTECTIVE HELMET- Construction or bike helmets both okay.

• STAY AWHILE Come for the WHOLE WEEKEND (or just join us for SATURDAY or SUNDAY only)

• RIDE with the any of the GROUP RIDES on gravel or singletrack routes Saturday and/or Sunday (or do your own thing)

• PLAY It’s just like summer camp, but with beer! you can enjoy a ton of camp-based activities like Campfires & S’mores, Hot Tub Hang Outs, Terrapin Happy Hour, Live Music in the Barn Saturday afternoon, Board Games, Karaoke, and more.

• EAT all that excellent Mulberry Gap fare and wash it down with your favorite beers by Terrapin and other breweries!

FRIDAY 

• 3:00pm onward - Check-in at The Office at Mulberry Gap (get your Swag Bag!)

• 6:00pm-9:00pm - Kick-Off Event at Cartecay Bike Shop Brewery Live music! Drinks! Pump Track! Chapter Members buy guests their first beer of the night!

• 7:30pm Open NGMBA Meeting (also at Cartecay)

SATURDAY 

• 8:30am - Breakfast (in The Barn at Mulberry Gap)

• 9:00am - Check-in at the Office if you’re a Day Guest

• 9:30am onward- Pick up your Bag Lunch before you ride, or leave it for later (Included in Weekend and Day Pass.)

• Climbing Gravel to the top of Bear Creek? 

  • 9:30am - MTB Pre-Ride Meeting

  • 9:45am - Group Roll Out

• Shuttling to the top of Bear Creek?

  • 9:45am - Shuttle Load up for 10:00am departure 

  • 10:00am - Bear Creek Shuttle Departs (Limit 18 people) 

• Gravel Ride 

  • 10:15am - Gravel Pre-Ride Meeting

  • 10:30am - Gravel Ride Roll Out (short and long options)

• Shuttles also offered at 11am, 12pm, 2pm, and 2pm (FINAL SHUTTLE)

• 4:00pm - Raffle benefitting the NGMBA

• (Short Gravel) Spaghetti Loop - 8.7 miles with 885 feet of climbing

• (Long Gravel) Spaghetti-Gates-Zion - 33 miles with 2,872 feet of climbing
