Mark your calendars for our Bearhoti Spring Blitz Work Days coming this Spring!
We knocked out Bear Creek last month, so here's the plan on the rest of the system.
Every second Saturday of the month through June we will work on a section of the Pinhoti.
April 11th Details:
Who: Everyone is welcome to volunteer- especially certified saywers! Kids who are able to assist safety and stay focused are welcome to volunteer when accompanied by an adult.
What: Clearing Pinhoti Section 1 (Bear Creek to FS90… at least 3 miles, travelled on foot) We will be doing drains, tread work, and corridor clearing.
Where: Meet up at the Pinhoti 2 parking lot off Widerness Camp road and we will shuttle to the intersection of Pinhoti 1 and Wilderness Camp to hike in.
When: Meet up at 9am, we’ll plan to wrap up no later than noon.
What’s Provided: Lunch and tools are all provided!
What to Bring: Please wear long pants, hiking boots, bring gloves, a helmet (bike helmets okay), snacks, water and a pack and be prepared to hike at least 3 miles. Consider bugspray and sunscreen. Bring you epipi pen if you are allergic to bees.
Waiver: You must sign a waiver when checking in and wear a helmet to attend the event
